Davio's History
Davio's has operated under Steve DiFillippo's leadership and ownership for over 20 years. Currently there are two Davio's Restaurants in our family. Boston's Back Bay at 75 Arlington Street and Philadelphia's historic Provident Bank Building in Center City at 111 South 17th Street.
The first of Steve's restaurants was Davio's on Newbury Street in Boston. It was actually two restaurants in one, a special occasion restaurant on one level with a bistro/casual café style restaurant on the other level. After 18 successful and memorable years, we moved our Boston location a few blocks away to 75 Arlington Street in October, 2002
In 1990 Davio's Cambridge opened. It's location in the Royal Sonesta Hotel made it one of Boston's first restaurants in a hotel that was independently owned and operated. With two dining rooms and balcony dining, every guest had a view of the Charles River and the Boston skyline. In January 2006, after 15 successful years in Cambridge, we have moved!
Once again
relocating to Boston at One Charles Street South, our
new restaurant, Avila - Modern Mediterranean, is now
serving Dinner, Lunch and Sunday Brunch.
In October 1999, we opened in Philadelphia, PA. This is where Steve first introduced his Northern Italian Steakhouse concept. As a Northern Italian Steakhouse, the menu includes a selection of the finest cuts of meat - Prime aged Brandt Beef New York Sirloin, Filet Mignon, Kobe Rib-Eye Steak, and Porterhouse Veal Chop. The menu also includes well-known classic Davio's specialties such as Spaghetti Bolognese, Penne Applewood Smoked Chicken, Homemade Sausages, Veal Scaloppine and Crispy Chicken Livers. Davio's Philadelphia is also home to our Famous Davio's Philly Cheese Steak Rolls which is destined to become a Davio's Classic.
Davio's Boston, is located at 75 Arlington Street in the former Paine Furniture building in Boston's Back Bay. Davio's Boston features an enormous display kitchen, our in-house bakery, an open wine room with 300 wines and parking in the same building! The Boston location is over 9,000 square feet with a spacious main dining room and three versatile function rooms. In the adjacent galleria of the 10 St. James building, a new Davio's to Go Shop serves delicious takeout foods made fresh every day in the Davio's kitchen.
