Jorge Montoya

Executive Chef

Jorge Montoya was born in Medellín, Colombia and grew up with his grandmother and uncles. He started in the restaurant industry washing dishes and with each promotion his knowledge of the industry grew. Montoya says his grandmother was his biggest role model and he has always enjoyed to cook and has had a love for it starting at a young age.

According to Montoya his favorite things about being a chef are “teaching the cooks that every day we can do better at everything we do and the tranquility to teach and mentor new chefs”. Montoya says it should always be all about the guest because “the guest always deserves the best and they are part of our family”.

Montoya’s favorite place to have a dessert is his grandmother’s kitchen and he says “There are very good restaurants all over but my favorite of all is Davio’s because we have a lot of variety on our menu.” Montoya’s favorite memory from the industry is “the day I was promoted from washing dishes to line cook”.
